Two of its twenty-six months were spent below the finished floor — rock anchors, drainage, tanking. Everything above rests on them.

A 1920s home, kept. The original brick repointed by hand; behind it, new structure, services and thermal envelope.

From the street, nothing appears to have happened. That was the entire brief.

The family visited every Saturday. By the end, their youngest could name the trades.

Residence III — Northern Beaches · New residence · 22 months

A house wecannot show you.

Its owners asked for no photography, and meant it. It stands near the ocean. Every external fixing is marine-grade; each timber was chosen for how it will weather. That is all we will say.

Discretion is only worth something when it costs something. Here, it costs us the best pictures we have ever taken.

Residence IV — Mosman · New residence, constrained site · 20 months

Mosman Terrace

A narrow site: nowhere to store anything, no margin for a missed lift. The structural programme was craned, planned to the day.

The clients lived next door throughout. They are still our clients — and their neighbours have since become two of our references.
